George Baker joined CAHEC as an Acquisitions Manager in October 2016 and in 2021 moved to CAHEC Properties Corp as Manager, Development and currently is its Senior Vice President. Previously, George worked at Greystone Affordable Housing Initiatives, Paramount Financial Group, AIG/SunAmerica, the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, and CDC Financial Corporation. His experience includes 9 years as a developer/consultant on tax-exempt bond portfolio transactions, 6 years working for other syndicators, 5 years working for an allocating agency, and 11 years developing multi-family housing. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut.
Andrea is the Director, Development for CAHEC Properties Corporation. Andrea oversees the funding and application process for the acquisition and substantial rehabilitation of properties utilizing Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Tax Exempt Bonds and several other funding sources throughout South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. She has over 15 years of experience in the affordable housing industry in property accounting and acquisition with substantial rehabilitation of over 150 properties in the Southeast. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Lander University.
Royce Bratton has had the pleasure of working in property management for over 32 years. He started as a maintenance technician in the 1990s then became a site manager. A short time later, he was promoted to district manager supervising 34 to 48 properties. He has trained maintenance staff and managers on everything from working on HVAC units, to obtaining and reviewing tenant certifications, completing move ins and move outs, and performing property inspections. In 2011, Royce was asked to assist with some rehabilitation projects in Virginia. This led to his transition from property management to development. Royce now performs property inspections to help determine the scope of work for proposed rehab developments. He monitors work onsite throughout the construction process and helps maintain good tenant relations among the construction, site, and development staff. He also acts as an owner representative performing reviews of properties in our portfolio and reports on deficiencies that need to be addressed to keep our properties in compliance with our agency, lending, and investment partners.
Chis is the Project Manager for CAHEC Properties Corporation. Chris oversees all aspects of CPC’s Low Income housing Tax Credits, Tax Exempt Bonds, and USDA Multifamily Preservation and Revitalization construction projects from inception to completion. Chris works closely with our general contractors as the owner’s representative to ensure that projects are held to the excellent standards CPC has set in the industry. Before coming to CPC Chris managed several HUD Community Development Block Grant construction projects in the Carolinas from 2017 to 2021, which provided safe and secure permanent housing throughout hundreds of communities.
Matthew Verboon joined CAHEC Properties Corporation (CPC) as a Development Financing Manger in April 2021, but has been in the affordable housing industry since 2011. Matt’s role at CPC focuses on structuring and overseeing the acquisition, rehabilitation, and closeout of multifamily housing development throughout the southeast. Previously, Matthew worked at Greystone Affordable Development where he underwrote and closed tax-exempt bond portfolio transactions throughout the United States utilizing funding sources that include: low-income housing tax credits, HOME, RD 538, and RD 515 loan funds. Matthew Verboon graduated from Elon University where he received a B.S. degree of Business Administration majoring in Finance.
Maile is the Operations Manager for CAHEC Properties Corporation. Maile is involved in all aspects of the acquisition and substantial rehabilitation of affordable multifamily housing communities from property selection and review of the Qualified Allocation Plan through project completion by submitting funding applications to various agencies, providing resident relocation services, assisting in the construction draw process, and preparing placed in service applications. Prior to joining the Development Team, Maile began her affordable housing career in compliance monitoring, where she received her Certified Professional of Occupancy credential and facilitated procedures for compliance at HUD funded properties.
Sarah is the Project Administrator for CAHEC Properties Corporation. Sarah is involved in all construction related administrative functions. Additionally, Sarah works with the whole development team on all development related processes including funding applications, development draws, feasibility analysis, site and title concerns, review of third-party reports, and other development activities. Sarah also works in areas related to property ownership, which include budgeting, review of repair requests and their funding, and other matters that relate to property ownership. Sarah has over 15 years of experience in the affordable housing industry, serving as a Property Manager and Maintenance Manager, prior to joining the Development Team.
